Organic seedling of Summer raspberry 'Summer Chef®'
Rubus idaeus
Cultivation: summer raspberry, fruits on two-year-old canes
Ripening period: July, from early July
Fruits: beautifully shaped conical berries, large and highly productive, thanks to long fruiting laterals developing along the entire length of the previous year’s canes
Flavour: very intense raspberry aroma with excellent fruity taste
Growth: produces enough new canes; remains compact, typically reaching 180–220 cm instead of 3 m or more; good winter hardiness of new canes, even in cold years and windy, exposed locations
Special feature: canes are only lightly thorny; the few thorns appear as small bumps and do not prick
Origin of the variety: Lubera

Growing instructions
Plant in the ground in rich, well-drained soil. Space the plants about 50 cm apart. Choose a sunny spot. Provide a support structure or trellis for training the raspberry bushes, which can grow up to 2 metres tall. Pruning: for non-remontant varieties, cut back the canes that have already borne fruit to ground level at the end of summer. Remontant varieties: in winter, cut back only the upper part of the cane that has borne fruit; the lower part will produce fruit the following year. Frost-hardy.
