Seedling Asian Vegetable, Pai Tsai
Brassica rapa ssp. Chinensis
Pai tsai is an Asian vegetable with a mild, nutty flavour.
Its green, fresh and crunchy leaves are harvested continuously when they reach a size of 6 cm. The leaves are harvested between late September and mid-December. They are very good in salads or cooked. If you do not harvest everything, the plants will go to seed the following spring. At that point you can harvest the young shoots and flowers, which are a real treat. The plant reaches a height of 20 cm and is suitable for growing in pots.
